Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

This policy covers CPTED.Now Field (the mobile app), the web dashboard at app.cpted.now, and this website. It explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. CPTED.Now is a professional tool for qualified assessors, so most data you enter is work product about a site you are assessing, not personal data about you.

Who we are

CPTED.Now is operated by CPTED.Now, a Security.NOW company. For any privacy question, contact us at support@cpted.now.

What we collect

  • Account and profile information — your name and email address, plus an organization when one is assigned, callsign, and profile settings. Identity information is provided through Microsoft Entra ID when you sign in.
  • Assessment content you create — photos and annotations, precise GPS location and compass heading captured with an observation, typed notes, stakeholder interview audio you choose to record, transcripts, and report text.
  • Reports — the finished assessment documents generated from your observations.
  • Basic diagnostic, update, and map-use data — app logs and error reports. The app update service may process an installation identifier and limited update or crash diagnostics. The Google Maps software used in the app may also process a device identifier, crash and performance data, map interactions, and a user identifier for app functionality and analytics.
  • Support messages — the contact details and information you choose to send when asking us for help or requesting access, correction, export, or deletion.

We do not collect data for advertising, and we do nottrack you across other companies' apps or websites.

How location, camera, and microphone are used

The app requests location, camera, and microphone access only to capture field observations you initiate: geotagging a photo, orienting an observation with the compass, and recording an interview. Camera and location are used while you are actively using the related capture feature. An interview recording you start may continue if the screen locks and stops when you end the recording. You can decline or later withdraw any of these permissions in your device settings; the app still works, with the related capture feature disabled.

How your data is used

We use the data you enter for a single purpose: to run the CPTED analysis pipeline and assemble your assessment report. Observation photos, notes, and audio are processed by our AI provider (AWS Bedrock) and transcription provider (Deepgram) to produce ring summaries, transcripts, and the final report. We do not use your assessment content to train third-party models, and we do not sell it.

Before the first AI analysis or transcription, the app explains these transfers and asks for your permission. If you agree, selected observation text and photos may be sent to AWS Bedrock, and interview audio may be sent to Deepgram. If you decline, your locally captured content remains available but those processing features do not run. You can withdraw that permission in the app's Profile screen; this stops future AI and transcription transfers without deleting content already stored on your device.

Where data is stored and who processes it

  • Supabase — hosts the database and files (reports, photos, observations).
  • Microsoft Entra ID — authentication and identity.
  • Google Maps Platform — renders maps and may process map coordinates and the diagnostic and map-use data described above. This data is not used for cross-app tracking by CPTED.Now.
  • Expo Application Services — securely delivers app updates and may process an installation identifier and limited update or crash diagnostics.
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS Bedrock) — AI analysis of observations.
  • Deepgram — converts interview audio to text.

Each provider processes data only to deliver its part of the service. We require service providers to apply contractual and technical protections consistent with this policy. Data is protected in transit and at rest by these providers.

Sharing

Your reports are private to your account unless you explicitly share a report with another user. We do not share your data with anyone else except the service providers above, or where required by law.

Retention and deletion

We keep your reports and observations until you delete them or ask us to. To delete your account and associated cloud data, email support@cpted.nowfrom your account address. We will verify the request and complete it within 30 days. Local files can be removed through the app's report controls or by deleting the app. Copies of a report that you exported or explicitly shared cannot be recalled from their recipients. We may retain a minimal record only when required by law, fraud prevention, or security, and we will explain that in our response.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data. Contact support@cpted.now to exercise any of these.

Children

CPTED.Now is a professional tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
